Béton, is a unisex collection of hand-crafted solid silver jewellery influenced by the strong lines, hidden angles and sharp shadows of Brutalist architecture.

Béton originates from the French, Béton Brut, or Raw Concrete, a term popularised by Le Corbusier.

The minimal design focusses on the material qualities of the silver, creating simple, understated pieces that can be worn everyday and treasured forever.

The Béton necklace is a classic. A simple, understated ring of solid silver hung on a fine, diamond cut, box chain, this necklace can be worn every day and might even become a lifelong favourite.

The collection features seven pieces designed to be mixed and matched and includes Point, Beam and Apex earrings, a necklace, cufflinks, a ring and a bangle.

Each piece is hand finished in the Tom Pigeon studio in Fife to create a beautiful flat matt finish and is supplied in a black box with white Tom Pigeon foil emboss and black foam inner.

All of the Tom Pigeon jewellery is made by hand, in their studio in Fife using a mixture of modern and traditional techniques and materials.

The metal pieces are precision etched in a family-run workshop on the West coast of Scotland before being finished in our studio. The metal used in the pieces is gently waxed to slow patination and tarnishing. Over time brass, copper and stainless steel will become darker and richer, developing a unique patina. To restore the original shine it is  recommended that you gently polish with extra-fine wire wool. Alternatively you can use a polishing cloth (Tom Pigeon use Sunshine Polishing Cloths in the studio) or a gentle, polishing compound. Newly polished metal can be waxed with Renaissance Wax to protect the surface and avoid further tarnish. The stainless steel used is grade 316L (surgical steel). It won’t tarnish but if you want to polish it you can gently rub with a polishing cloth or use a soft cloth and a very small drop of vegetable oil or sweet almond oil.

Tom Pigeon jewellery is splash proof but please avoid direct contact with water, perfume, creams and other sprays as these may cause discolouration. Where we have supplied your jewellery in a box, we recommend that you store it in this. All jewellery is best stored in a box or another container to avoid scratches and discolouration. Keeping metal jewellery air tight will slow down the rate at which it develops a patina.

Available to be seen in our Cotswolds store in Nailsworth.
